Navratri at Home 2026
Introduction –
Every year, the prices of Garba passes go up. Parking near the venue takes just as long as the first round of Garba itself. By 11 PM, you’re drenched in sweat and starving, stuck in a crowd of 5,000 strangers, while the person you came with has vanished somewhere near the food stalls.
Does all this sound familiar?
That is precisely why more and more people are now celebrating right at home. A terrace adorned with fairy lights. A housing society compound equipped with a good sound system. A living room where the sofa has been pushed aside—with Grandma seated front and centre, and cousins, dressed in matching chaniya-cholis, busy making Reels.
The music remains the same. The dance steps are unchanged. The devotion is just as deep. Yet, these celebrations feel more intimate and are safer for children and the elderly; they are easier on the pocket, and—with the right planning—look absolutely beautiful.
But what do you actually need to pull this off successfully? Which speaker can deliver loud sound on the terrace without disturbing the entire building? Is it a good idea to get LED dandiyas? Which lights and diyas look great on camera while remaining safe around flowing dupattas?
To find the answers, we researched the most popular Navratri products sold on Amazon India and Flipkart. We compared prices, read buyer ratings and complaints, checked specifications and power options, and assessed what actually works best for a terrace or society compound setting.
Here is our festive guide:
How Today’s Generation Is Celebrating Navratri
(Beyond the Big Garba Grounds)
- Terrace Garba Nights – A group of 15–30 friends and family members, a powerful Bluetooth party speaker, a Garba playlist on Spotify or YouTube, and strings of fairy lights. No passes, no hassle of standing in queues, and no traffic woes.
- Society & Apartment Garba – Residents’ associations now organize a nine-day Garba event right within the building complex. It feels like a community gathering, yet everyone can simply walk home once the night ends.
- Family-First Celebrations – Grandparents can join in without the stress of crowds, children stay safe and within sight, and instead of expensive food stalls, everyone enjoys homemade faraal (festive fasting food).
- 9 Days, 9 Colours Trend – Groups of friends and family members coordinate their outfits according to the designated colour for each day and post group photos. It is the easiest way to make home celebrations special.
- Made for Reels – Marigold flower backdrops, curtain lights, LED dandiyas, and ring lights transform any corner into a photo booth. Decorations are planned with both guests and the camera lens in mind.
- Live Singing and Karaoke – Instead of a DJ, someone takes a wireless mic to sing classic Garba songs while the others dance—just like in the old days.
- Safer, Greener Choices – Open flames and single-use decorations are being replaced by flameless LED diyas, reusable artificial marigolds, and USB-powered lights. Especially on rooftops, where fluttering dupattas and the wind do not mix safely with fire.

Rating: 4.5/5 on Flipkart (214 ratings)
Available: Amazon India, Flipkart, JBL India

If you are organizing a Garba event on your terrace for nine nights, this speaker won’t disappoint you. Its 100W output is sufficient for a terrace or the compound of a small housing society (accommodating 25–40 people), and the 15-hour battery life means you won’t need to run extension cords up to the terrace. You can easily use it from 8 PM until midnight for three nights before it needs recharging.
According to the Flipkart listing, a microphone is included in the box. The speaker features separate inputs for a mic and a guitar, as well as a karaoke EQ function, allowing a family member to sing a song like “Pankhida” live. JBL’s “AI Sound Boost” ensures that dhol beats remain clear even at high volumes without distorting the sound. Additionally, the built-in light show syncs with the music, creating a spectacular visual effect. An IPX4 rating means it won’t be damaged by light dew or splashes.
Pros –
Wireless operation with up to 15 hours of battery backup; 100W sound output is sufficient for Garba in a terrace or small housing society; the Flipkart listing includes a mic, and it features dedicated mic and guitar inputs; includes a light show that syncs with the music for Reels; IPX4 splash-proof rating, and you can pair two units via Auracast for a larger setup.
Cons –
It is expensive, priced at approximately Rs. 21,000; being a new model, it has only 214 ratings on Flipkart so far; the Amazon listing mentions “free mic, wire not included,” so check the box contents before purchasing; it is not very lightweight, making it difficult to carry around easily for extended periods.

Best Budget Speaker with Karaoke Mic: boAt PartyPal 220
Status: VERIFIED (NOT TESTED) · Verified against 34,000+ customer ratings
Price: Rs. 6,800 on Flipkart (MRP Rs. 24,990); listed at Rs. 5,499 on boAt’s website
Power: 80W RMS · 8-inch woofer + 2.5-inch tweeter
Battery: 6 hours (5,400 mAh)
Rating: 4.2/5 on Flipkart (34,293 ratings)
Available: Flipkart, boAt website

This is an excellent choice for most families and groups of friends. It features a solid 8-inch woofer (essential for the beats in Garba and dance music), an 80W output, RGB lights, and a wireless karaoke mic—all at less than one-third the price of a JBL equivalent.
With a 4.2/5 rating and over 34,000 reviews on Flipkart, it is the most reviewed product on our list. Its 6-hour battery life easily lasts through a full night of Garba, and you can even connect two units together using TWS mode.
Pros –
A great deal at around Rs. 6,800; the Flipkart listing includes a wireless karaoke mic; features an 8-inch woofer for powerful bass and RGB lights; supports TWS pairing with another unit; and boasts over 34,000 ratings, making the score reliable.
Cons –
Its 6-hour battery will require daily charging during Navratri; with 80W of power, it is great for a terrace but not suitable for a large housing society ground. Currently, the variant without a microphone is listed on boAt’s website, so be sure to check the “in the box” section before ordering; it comes with only a one-year warranty that does not cover liquid damage (such as damage caused by water).

Best Lights for a Terrace Backdrop: Desidiya 8-Mode Curtain Lights (300 LEDs)
Status: RESEARCHED · Checked against 70 Flipkart ratings and price-history data
Price: Around Rs. 383 on Amazon (MRP Rs. 1,999); Rs. 829 on Flipkart
Size: 10 strands × 3 m, 300 warm-white LEDs
Power: USB, with remote · 8 light modes
Rating: 4.2/5 on Flipkart (70 ratings)
Available: Amazon India, Flipkart, BigBasket

If you want to buy just one decoration item this Navratri, opt for ‘curtain lights.’ Hang them behind the idol or photo of the Goddess, behind the Garba setup, or against a wall; this instantly creates a stunning, glowing backdrop that looks fantastic in photos.
Since they are USB-powered, you can run them using a standard phone charger or a power bank, eliminating the need for risky extension cords. The included remote allows you to switch between steady, twinkle, and fade modes without having to climb onto a chair. Plus, you can reuse them for Diwali just two weeks later.
Pros –
Very affordable at around Rs. 449; USB-powered, making it safe and compatible with power banks; features 8 modes and a remote; the warm-white light looks stunning on camera; reusable for Diwali and weddings; easily available.
Cons –
Prices vary significantly across different sellers (ranging from Rs. 199 to Rs. 1,499 last year), so compare them before purchasing; the Flipkart listing has only 70 ratings, and the thin copper wires tangle easily, so handle them with care; being USB-powered means they aren’t as bright as mains-powered lights when used in large spaces.

Best Reusable Marigold Decor: Santracom Artificial Marigold (Genda) Garlands
Status: RESEARCHED · Checked against 208 Flipkart ratings
Price: Rs. 170
Pack: Orange and yellow strings (the title says pack of 10; the sales package says 12)
Material: Reusable plastic
Rating: 4.0/5 on Flipkart (208 ratings)
Available: Flipkart (7-day returns, cash on delivery)

Real marigold flowers have a wonderful fragrance, but they wilt within a day, meaning you would have to replace them nine times during Navratri. Artificial marigold garlands provide that festive orange-and-yellow look for the entire nine-day period and can be stored away for future use during Diwali, Ganpati celebrations, or weddings.
Use them to decorate the main entrance, create a toran (door hanging) above the prayer area, or fashion a photo backdrop by hanging five or six strands together behind the dance area. When paired with curtain lights, this creates the ultimate “aesthetic Navratri” look—a favorite on Instagram.
Pros –
Decor that stays looking fresh for all 9 days—all for a single price; reusable for every festival; the orange and yellow blend offers a traditional look; rated 4/5 by 208 buyers; 7-day return policy and Cash on Delivery available.
Cons –
Plastic flowers lack the fragrance of real marigolds, so keep some fresh flowers near the puja area as well; the pack quantity isn’t clear in the listing (10 or 12); the colors might appear a bit too bright under harsh white light.

Best Flameless Diyas: MoviQ LED Water Sensor Diya (Pack of 12)
Status: VERIFIED (NOT TESTED) · Verified against 3,000+ customer ratings
Price: Rs. 226–Rs. 238 (MRP Rs. 797)
Pack: 12 diyas
How it works: Pour a little water in, and the LED lights up; no oil, no wick
Rating: 3.8/5 on Flipkart (3,015 ratings)
Available: Flipkart

Lighting open-flame diyas on the terrace can actually be risky. The wind might blow them out, or the hem of a ‘dupatta’ or ‘ghagra-choli’ could catch fire while moving around. Water-sensor diyas offer a solution to this problem; they resemble traditional clay lamps, emit a soft glow, and light up only when water is poured into them.
Priced at less than Rs. 20 each, these diyas can be used to decorate terrace edges, *rangoli* designs, and staircases—all for a total cost lower than that of a single Garba pass. They are safe to use around children and are perfect for society events where open flames are not permitted.
Pros –
Very affordable at approximately Rs. 20 per lamp; no risk of fire near clothes, children, or decorations; no issue of oil spilling on the terrace; they work even in the wind; over 3,000 ratings; can be reused for Diwali.
Cons –
A 3.8/5 rating implies that some buyers received diyas that stopped working, so it is advisable to check them immediately upon receipt; the seller does not accept returns and has a rating of 3.2 stars; it uses button cells that need to be replaced later; and up close, the plastic body does not look as premium as a genuine clay diya.

MoviQ LED Water Sensor Diya (Pack of 12)

Price: Rs. 226–Rs. 238 (MRP Rs. 797)
Pack: 12 diyas

Best LED Dandiya: DesiDecor Brocade Lace Wooden LED Dandiya Sticks
Status: RESEARCHED · Limited review data (new listing)
Price: Rs. 514–Rs. 542 (MRP Rs. 599)
Pack: 1 pair · 14 inches · 235 g
Material: Hardwood with Baandhni cloth and lace decoration
Rating: Not enough ratings yet
Available: Flipkart (7-day returns)

LED dandiyas are the most eye-catching element of terrace Garba. Videos look spectacular when the main lights are dimmed and everyone dances with glowing sticks. The problem, however, is that most LED dandiyas are made of cheap plastic that breaks upon heavy impact.
This set from DesiDecor features genuine hardwood (producing a satisfying “clack” sound when the sticks strike), traditional Bandhani fabric, and LED lights. It is sanded smooth to ensure there is no roughness or splinters, and weighing 235 grams per pair, it feels comfortable to hold. We have included this product because it strikes a perfect balance between a traditional look and the glow of LEDs; however, please note that as it is a new product, there are no reliable ratings available yet.
Pros –
Made of genuine wood that produces the authentic Dandiya sound; traditional Bandhani and lace designs that look stunning in photos; LED glow for night-time Raas; smooth finish with no roughness; 7-day return policy.
Cons –
Priced at approximately Rs. 540 per pair, these are significantly more expensive than plastic LED sticks; there are no customer ratings yet, so this information is based solely on specifications; the seller does not offer a cash-on-delivery option; be sure to check the battery type and whether extra batteries are included upon receipt.

Best for Reels and Group Photos: DIGITEK DRL-18HC9 18-inch Ring Light
Status: RESEARCHED · Checked against 433 Flipkart ratings
Price: Rs. 3,875
Size: 18-inch ring · 9-foot tripod stand
Light: 60W, 5,400 lumens, 3,200K–5,600K (warm to daylight)
Power: AC adapter or battery
Rating: 4.1/5 on Flipkart (433 ratings)
Available: Flipkart (Flipkart Assured)

Phone cameras often struggle in the low light of a rooftop at night, resulting in grainy, yellow-tinted photos of beautiful outfits. A large 18-inch ring light mounted on a tall stand solves this problem. Place it in your photo corner—set against a backdrop of marigolds and curtain lights—and everyone will get clear, radiant photos that perfectly capture their ‘color of the day.’
Adjustable color temperature is essential: set it to ‘warm’ (around 3,200K) to match fairy lights for a cozy vibe, or to ‘daylight’ for crisp, clear outfit shots. The 9-foot stand is tall enough to illuminate a group of 5–6 people, and a battery-powered option means you can use it on the terrace even without a nearby power outlet.
Pros –
The large 18-inch ring light illuminates’ groups rather than just individual faces; features a 9-foot tall stand; adjustable lighting ranging from warm to daylight tones; operates on battery or mains power; Flipkart Assured; and is reusable for content creation throughout the year and for every festival.
Cons –
If you need this solely for Navratri, it is expensive; weighing 3 kg, it is heavy and requires a stable spot on a breezy terrace; batteries are not always included with these lights, so be sure to check before buying; an 18-inch ring light might be overkill if it is intended only for selfies.

What About Traditional Clothes?
(Chaniya Choli and Kediyu Buying Guide)
We haven’t singled out one best chaniya choli because fit, fabric, and design matter more than the brand, and the ratings found on product listings often include complaints related to sizing. Instead, keep these points in mind before making a purchase:
- Choose a Light Fabric for Terrace Garba – It is much easier to dance for three hours in a chaniya made of cotton, rayon, or georgette compared to heavy silk. While heavy mirror work looks beautiful, it adds weight to the outfit and can even scratch your partner’s hands while dancing.
- Check the flare (ghera) – A chaniya with a wider flare twirls better and looks spectacular in slow-motion videos. Be sure to check the flare measurement (in meters) in the listing.
- Read the size chart carefully — Many chaniya cholis come with a semi-stitched blouse. Check whether the blouse is stitched or unstitched, because with Navratri so close, you won’t have time to get it tailored.
- Plan for the 9 Colors – Instead of buying nine new outfits, purchase two or three chaniyas that can be styled in different ways, and simply switch the *dupatta* and blouse to match the color of the day.
- For Men – A cotton kediyo paired with a matching dhoti or churidar, or simply a bright-colored kurta matching the day’s theme, would be perfect for playing Garba at home.
- Complete the Look – Oxidized jhumkas, a kamarbandh, and ghungroo-adorned anklets add a touch of glamour to your look without breaking the bank. Opt for comfortable flat mojaris, or dance barefoot on a clean terrace.
- Check the Return Policy — Listings marked “no return” might involve potential sizing issues. Opt for listings that offer at least a 7-day return or exchange option.
How We Chose These Navratri Products (Our Research Approach)
We assessed 15 product listings across party speakers, karaoke mics, LED dandiyas, lights, marigold decor, diyas and ring lights on Amazon India, Flipkart and brand websites, and narrowed them down to 7. Every product falls into one of three tiers, and each review tells you which tier it belongs to.
TIER 1: Verified Comparison (2 products)
We did not purchase these, but each has 1,000+ ratings on a single store, so the buyer feedback is deep enough to trust. We compared specs, prices and complaint patterns.
boAt PartyPal 220: Verified against 34,000+ customer ratings
MoviQ LED Water Sensor Diya: Verified against 3,000+ customer ratings
Marked in the article: VERIFIED (NOT TESTED)
TIER 2: Research-Based (5 products)
We checked official specification sheets, compared prices across sellers (including price-history data), and read the available buyer reviews.
Why we didn’t test them: each has fewer than 1,000 ratings on a single store, or is a new listing. The data is solid, but not deep enough for a Tier 1 verdict.
JBL PartyBox Encore Essential 2, Desidiya Curtain Lights, Santracom Marigold Garlands, DIGITEK Ring Light and DesiDecor LED Dandiya are marked in the article: RESEARCHED
TIER 3: Eliminated Products (why 8 of 15 didn’t make it)
Poor ratings. A pack of plastic LED dandiyas from Satyam Kraft had a 2.1/5 rating, with buyers calling it “a really bad product”. A DMS Retail dandiya set scored 3.1/5 and turned out to be plain PVC with no LED.
Too few reviews to trust. A popular WS-858 style Bluetooth karaoke mic had just 2 ratings on the listing we checked. Several LED dandiya listings had fewer than 10 ratings.
Wrong fit for a terrace. The Zebronics BT8500RUCF tower speaker (Rs. 12,999) includes dual wireless mics, but it has only 25 ratings and a nearly 90 cm tall tower design that is less practical to carry up to a terrace than a battery-powered party speaker.
Misleading listings. We cut listings where the title and the specifications did not match, such as “lighting” dandiyas that have no battery or LEDs.
Everything You Need to Know Before Hosting Garba at Home
How Much Speaker Power Do You Need?
- Balcony or Living Room (5–15 people): A 20–40W portable Bluetooth speaker is enough.
- Terrace Garba (15–40 people): 80–100W with a large woofer, such as the boAt PartyPal 220 or JBL PartyBox Encore Essential 2.
- Society Compound (50+ people): Pair two party speakers, or hire a local DJ or PA system for the nine days. A single home speaker will not be enough.
Key Things to Check –
- Battery Life – Garba usually lasts for 3–4 hours. Choose a speaker with a battery life of at least 6 hours so that you don’t have to run wires across the dance area.
- Mic in the Box – Many listings mention “karaoke,” but they only feature a microphone input. Be sure to check the “In the Box” section.
- Fire Safety – Use LED diyas and string lights on the terrace; keep real diyas away from the dance area and never leave them unattended.
- Power – The lights designed to run on USB power can also operate using a power bank, eliminating the need for an extension board on a breezy terrace.
- Seller and Returns – Many festival-related listings do not offer a return facility. Check everything on the day the items are delivered, rather than waiting until the first day of Navratri.
- Noise Rules – In India, regulations regarding noise generally prohibit the use of loudspeakers after 10 PM, although some states may grant exemptions for specific festival nights. Familiarize yourself with local regulations and your housing society’s rules, and keep your neighbors happy.
How to Set Up a Garba Night at Home: Quick Checklist
Plan refreshments: Arrange ‘falahaar’ (fasting-friendly food) for those observing the fast, along with buttermilk, lemonade, and plenty of water.
Clean the area: Sweep the terrace and create a designated circle for Garba around the deity’s photograph or the Garba setup.
Prepare the backdrop: Hang curtain lights on a wall and drape marigold flower garlands in front of them.
Illuminate the edges: Place LED water-sensor diyas along the parapet, stairs, and the borders of the rangoli.
Set up the sound system: Position the speakers at the edge of the circle rather than in the center, and check the volume level from the direction of the neighbor’s wall.
Create a playlist: Start with traditional Garba music, transition to upbeat Dandiya Raas, and conclude with the Aarti.
Create a photo corner: Set up a ring light and a backdrop, and have everyone wear outfits matching the ‘color of the day’.
